i’m thinking of how vincent is a misogynist and when exactly that might’ve happened, and when it might’ve just been a … sort of hatred for people who could take advantage of him and hurt him and his brother, and when that hatred turned into something like “fuck all these women god they’re the worst!”
I mean obviously his mother has something to do with that too, but i’m not sure if, as a child, vincent would’ve been able to think like mom = the one who sold me and brother, so she hates us, but she’s a woman, therefore all women = evil and disgusting?Read more
okay, I haven’t read the chapter yet, but just a small little thing i noticed:
Hush now, dear children,
It must be this way to weary of life and deceptions
Rest now, my children,
For soon we'll away into the calm and the quiet
Pictured evidence of the last known sighting of the hat of Gilbert Nightray. The hat was last glimpsed on page 43 of Retrace 65, just before the young member of the Nightray Dukedom collapsed due to a bullet wound. It is likely now in the possession of one of those present at that time. Suspects include Vincent Nightray, Rufus Barma, Xerxes Break, Charlotte Baskerville, Lily Baskerville, an unknown number of generic, unidentified Baskervilles and Pandora members, and the head of Oswald Baskerville.
Alternate possibilities — that the object in question remains at the site of the crime, or that Nightray himself is still in possession of it — are still to be considered.
Any further information regarding the location of Gilbert Nightray’s hat is requested at this time.
But can you imagine after everything is not-so-fucked-up and they’re all safe to wander outside of Lutwidge, and they go searching for Gilbert’s precious hat just like old times? That would be a cute way to close the series.
